[777] The four discriminations (paṭisambhidā): 1. The discrimination of meaning (attha-paṭisambhidā) 2. The discrimination of dhamma (dhamma-paṭisambhidā) 3. The discrimination of language (nirutti-paṭisambhidā) 4. The discrimination of sagacity (paṭibhāṇa-paṭisambhidā) Knowledge (ñāṇa) in regard to meaning is the discrimination of meaning. Knowledge in regard to dhamma is the discrimination of dhamma. Knowledge in regard to the enunciation of the language of dhamma with reference to them is the discrimination of language.
