[778] The four discriminations (paṭisambhidā):
1. The discrimination of meaning (attha-paṭisambhidā);
2. The discrimination of dhamma (dhamma-paṭisambhidā);
3. The discrimination of language (nirutti-paṭisambhidā);
4. The discrimination of ready wit (paṭibhāṇa-paṭisambhidā).
Knowledge (ñāṇa) of suffering (dukkha) is the discrimination of meaning; knowledge of the origin of suffering (dukkhasamudaya) is the discrimination of dhamma; knowledge of the cessation of suffering (dukkhanirodha) is the discrimination of meaning; knowledge of the way of practice leading to the cessation of suffering (dukkhanirodhagāminī paṭipadā) is the discrimination of dhamma. Therein, knowledge of the enunciation of the language of dhamma (dhammaniruttābhilāpa) is the discrimination of language. Knowledge regarding knowledges is the discrimination of ready wit.
