[933] Therein, which are the three cravings (taṇhā)? Craving for sensual pleasures (kāmataṇhā), craving for existence (bhavataṇhā), and craving for non-existence (vibhavataṇhā).
Therein, which is craving for existence? Lust (rāga) accompanied by the view of existence (bhavadiṭṭhi), infatuation (sārāga), … infatuation of the mind (citta) — this is called craving for existence.
Therein, which is craving for non-existence? Lust accompanied by the annihilationist view (ucchedadiṭṭhi), infatuation, … infatuation of the mind — this is called craving for non-existence.
The remaining craving is craving for sensual pleasures.
Therein, which is craving for sensual pleasures? Lust connected with the sense-desire element (kāmadhātu), infatuation, … infatuation of the mind — this is called craving for sensual pleasures.
Lust connected with the form element (rūpadhātu) and the formless element (arūpadhātu), infatuation, … infatuation of the mind — this is called craving for existence.
Lust accompanied by the annihilationist view, infatuation, … infatuation of the mind — this is called craving for non-existence.
