[290] Phenomena (dhammā) that are clinging (upādāna), phenomena that are defilements (kilesa), phenomena that are both defilements and subject to defilement (saṅkilesika), phenomena that are both defilements and defiled (saṅkiliṭṭha), and phenomena that are both defilements and associated with defilements (kilesa-sampayutta) are associated with three aggregates (khandha), one sense base (āyatana), and one element (dhātu); they are associated with some [phenomena] of one aggregate, one sense base, and one element. From how many are they dissociated? They are dissociated from one aggregate, ten sense bases, and sixteen elements; they are dissociated from some [phenomena] of one sense base and one element.
