[1035] Sakavādin: For one who has entered upon the earth-kasiṇa (paṭhavīkasiṇa) attainment (samāpatti), is there knowledge (ñāṇa) with regard to what is distorted (viparīta)? Paravādin: Yes. S.: Is it the perversion (vipariyesa) [of apprehending] the impermanent as "permanent"? P.: It should not be said thus. … S.: [Is it the perversion of apprehending] what is suffering (dukkha) as "pleasant"? … what is non-self as "self"? … Is it the perversion [of apprehending] the foul as "beautiful"?
