[1525] P. Is it not to be said that one who is hindered (nīvuta) abandons the hindrances (nīvaraṇa)?
S. Yes.
P. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "For him, knowing thus, seeing thus, the mind (citta) is liberated even from the taint of sensual desire (kāmāsava) … the mind is liberated even from the taint of ignorance (avijjāsava)" — is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
S. Yes.
P. Then, indeed, one who is hindered abandons the hindrances.
