[1851] Sakavādin: Are all kammas (kamma) fixed (niyata)? Paravādin: Yes. S: Are they fixed in wrongness (micchatta-niyata)? P: Yes. S: Are they fixed in wrongness? P: It should not be said thus. … S: Are they fixed in rightness (sammatta-niyata)? P: It should not be said thus. … S: Is there no unfixed class (aniyata rāsi)? P: It should not be said thus. … S: Is there not an unfixed class? P: Yes. S: If there is an unfixed class, then indeed, good sir, you should not say that all kammas are fixed.
