[866] [Sakavādin:] Is it on the ground that it is [designated] "the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception (nevasaññānāsaññāyatana)" that, with regard to the sphere of neither-perception-nor-non-perception, it should not be said either that perception (saññā) exists or that it does not exist?
[Paravādin:] Yes.
[Sakavādin:] Then, on the ground that it is [designated] "neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling (adukkhamasukhā vedanā)," should it not be said, with regard to neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, either that it is feeling (vedanā) or that it is non-feeling?
[Paravādin:] It should not be said thus. …

The power, [whether] shared in common; noble; the mind (citta) with lust is liberated;
liberated, being liberated; there is a mind being liberated;
for the eighth person (aṭṭhamaka puggala) the obsession of views (diṭṭhipariyuṭṭhāna) is abandoned;
for the eighth person there are not the five faculties (pañcindriyāni); the eye,
the ear, strengthened by dhamma; the knowledge of faring according to kamma (yathākammūpagatañāṇa); among the devas
restraint (saṃvara); perception among the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā); and likewise, the summit of existence (bhavagga).
