[392] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will not arise, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) not arise for that one?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the nose base will not arise, will the eye base not arise for that one?
Those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna: for them the nose base will not arise, but it is not the case that the eye base will not arise for them. Those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), and those who, having been reborn in the formless (arūpa), will attain final Nibbāna: for them the nose base will not arise and the eye base will not arise.
