[377] For whomever the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) will arise, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) … the phenomena sense base (dhammāyatana) arise for him?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the phenomena sense base will arise, will the nose sense base arise for him?
For those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna, the phenomena sense base will arise, but the nose sense base will not arise for them; for the others, both the phenomena sense base will arise and the nose sense base will arise.
