[712] For whomever the nose sense base (ghānāyatana) will arise, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) … will the phenomena sense base (dhammāyatana) cease for him?
Yes.
Or, for whomever the phenomena sense base will cease, will the nose sense base arise for him?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn, and for those who, having been reborn in the fine-material sphere (rūpāvacara) or the immaterial sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the phenomena sense base will cease, but the nose sense base will not arise for them. For the others, both the phenomena sense base will cease and the nose sense base will arise.
