[549] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will cease, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) cease for that one?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are arising in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and — as they are passing away — for those who, having arisen in the form sphere, will attain final Nibbāna: their eye base will cease, but their nose base will not cease. For the others, both their eye base will cease and their nose base will cease.
Or else, for whomever the nose base will cease, will the eye base cease for that one?
