[711] For whomever the nose base (ghānāyatana) will arise, will the form base (rūpāyatana) cease for that one?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the form base will cease, will the nose base arise for that one?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into five-constituent existence (pañcavokāra), and for those who, having been reborn into the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna — for these, while they are being reborn, the form base will cease, but the nose base will not arise for them; for the others, both the form base will cease and the nose base will arise.
