[710] For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) will arise, will the mind base (manāyatana) … the dhamma base (dhammāyatana) cease for him?
Yes (āmantā).
Or rather, for whomever the dhamma base will cease, will the eye base arise for him?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn, and for those who, having been reborn in the formless [realm] (arūpa), will attain final Nibbāna — for them the dhamma base will cease, but the eye base will not arise for them. For the others, both the dhamma base will cease and the eye base will arise.
