[551] For whomever the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) will cease, will the mind sense base (manāyatana) … the dhamma sense base (dhammāyatana) cease for him?
Yes.
Or rather, for whomever the dhamma sense base will cease, will the eye sense base cease for him?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are arising in the formless realm (arūpa), and for those who, having arisen in the formless realm, will attain final Nibbāna (parinibbāna) — as these are passing away, their dhamma sense base will cease, but their eye sense base will not cease. For the others, their dhamma sense base will cease, and their eye sense base will also cease.
