[488] "For whomever the eye base (cakkhāyatana) arose, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) arise for that one?"
"For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika), and for those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna, the eye base arose, but the nose base will not arise for them. For the others, both the eye base arose and the nose base will arise."
"Or rather, for whomever the nose base will arise, did the eye base arise for that one?"
"Yes (āmantā)."
