[1047] For whomever, wherever, the nose-faculty (ghānindriya) arises, had the life-faculty (jīvitindriya) arisen to that one there? Yes. Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the life-faculty had arisen, does the nose-faculty arise to that one there? For all who are passing away and for those without a nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn, the life-faculty had arisen to them there, but the nose-faculty does not arise to them there. For those with a nose (saghānaka) who are being reborn, both the life-faculty had arisen to them there and the nose-faculty arises.
