[1375] One who will fully understand (parijānissati) the eye faculty (cakkhundriya) — will he abandon (pajahissati) the grief faculty (domanassindriya)?
Two persons (puggalā) will fully understand the eye faculty, but they will not abandon the grief faculty; five persons will both fully understand the eye faculty and abandon the grief faculty.
Or rather, one who will abandon the grief faculty — will he fully understand the eye faculty?
Yes (āmantā).
