[440] "Is the eye (cakkhu) a faculty (indriya)?" "Yes." "Are faculties the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya)?" "The eye-faculty is both a faculty and the eye-faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties, not the eye-faculty." "Is the ear (sota) a faculty?" "That ear which is a faculty is both ear and faculty; the remaining ear is not a faculty." "Are faculties the ear-faculty (sotindriya)?" "The ear-faculty is both a faculty and the ear-faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties, not the ear-faculty." "Is the nose (ghāna) a faculty?" "Yes." "Are faculties the nose-faculty (ghānindriya)?" "The nose-faculty is both a faculty and the nose-faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties, not the nose-faculty."
