[455] Is sota (the ear) a faculty (indriya)? That sota which is a faculty is both sota and a faculty; the remaining sota is not a faculty. Are the faculties the eye-faculty (cakkhundriya)? The eye-faculty is both a faculty and the eye-faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties, not the eye-faculty. … Is sota a faculty? That sota which is a faculty is both sota and a faculty; the remaining sota is not a faculty. Are the faculties the perfect-knower faculty (aññātāvindriya)? The perfect-knower faculty is both a faculty and the perfect-knower faculty; the remaining faculties are faculties, not the perfect-knower faculty.
