[569] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, does the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arise for that one there? When those possessed of a nose who are not male are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them there, but the masculinity faculty does not arise for them there. When those possessed of a nose who are male are being reborn, for them there both the nose faculty arises and the masculinity faculty arises.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty arises, does the nose faculty arise for that one there? When males without a nose are being reborn, the masculinity faculty arises for them there, but the nose faculty does not arise for them there. When males possessed of a nose are being reborn, for them there both the masculinity faculty arises and the nose faculty arises.
