[1123] Wherever the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises for anyone, will the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) arise for that one there? For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), and for those women who, in that very same state, will pass through however many existences and then attain final Nibbāna — as these are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them there, but the masculinity faculty will not arise for them there. For the others, possessing a nose (saghānaka), who are being reborn, the nose faculty arises for them there and the masculinity faculty will arise.
Or conversely, wherever the masculinity faculty will arise for anyone, does the nose faculty arise for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere, and for those without a nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, the masculinity faculty will arise for them there, but the nose faculty does not arise for them there. For those possessing a nose who are being reborn, the masculinity faculty will arise for them there and the nose faculty arises.
