[1085] For whomever the nose faculty (ghānindriya) arises, will the femininity faculty (itthindriya) arise for that one?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are taking rebirth in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for those who, having been reborn in the form sphere (rūpāvacara) or the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), will attain final Nibbāna, and for those males who, in that very same state, will pass through some number of existences and then attain final Nibbāna — for these, as they are taking rebirth, the nose faculty arises for them, but the femininity faculty will not arise for them. For the others, possessing a nose (saghānaka), who are taking rebirth, the nose faculty arises for them and the femininity faculty will arise.
Or, for whomever the femininity faculty will arise, does the nose faculty arise for that one?
For all who are passing away, and for those without a nose (aghānaka) who are taking rebirth, the femininity faculty will arise for them, but the nose faculty does not arise for them. For those possessing a nose who are taking rebirth, the femininity faculty will arise for them and the nose faculty arises.
