[1195] For whomever, wherever, the nose faculty (ghānindriya) does not arise, will the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) not arise for that one there?
For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for those without the nose (aghānaka) who are being reborn into the sense sphere: for them, there, the nose faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and for those women who, in that very same state, will pass through some number of existences and then attain final Nibbāna — as those women pass away: for them, there, the nose faculty does not arise and the masculinity faculty will not arise.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the masculinity faculty will not arise, does the nose faculty not arise for that one there?
For those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) who are being reborn into the sense sphere, and for those women who, in that very same state, will pass through some number of existences and then attain final Nibbāna — as those women are being reborn: for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that, for them, there, the nose faculty does not arise. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere, for beings of the formless sphere, and for those women who, in that very same state, will pass through some number of existences and then attain final Nibbāna — as those women pass away: for them, there, the masculinity faculty will not arise and the nose faculty does not arise.
