Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (2) · Vol. 39 · Section 1207

[1207] For whom, wherever, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) does not arise, will the life faculty (jīvitindriya) not arise for him there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for non-males (napurisa) being reborn into the sense sphere, for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and for beings of the formless sphere (arūpāvacara) — for them, there, the masculinity faculty does not arise, but it is not the case that the life faculty will not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, and for those in their final existence (pacchimabhavika) in the form sphere and in the formless sphere — for them, there, the masculinity faculty does not arise, and the life faculty will not arise. Or, for whom, wherever, the life faculty will not arise, does the masculinity faculty not arise for him there? For males in their final existence who are being reborn — for them, there, the life faculty will not arise, but it is not the case that the masculinity faculty does not arise for them there. For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere, and for those in their final existence in the form sphere and in the formless sphere — for them, there, the life faculty will not arise, and the masculinity faculty does not arise.
