[664] Where the masculinity faculty (purisindriya) does not arise, does the joy faculty (somanassindriya) not arise there?
In the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the masculinity faculty does not arise there, but it is not the case that the joy faculty does not arise there. Among the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) and in the formless (arūpa), the masculinity faculty does not arise there and the joy faculty does not arise there.
Or rather, where the joy faculty does not arise, does the masculinity faculty not arise there?
