[1153] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated (sampayutta) with pleasant feeling (sukhā vedanā) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling (adukkhamasukhā vedanā) by way of predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya).
Object predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): Having given a gift (dāna), having undertaken virtue (sīla), having performed the uposatha observance (uposatha-kamma) with a mind (citta) associated with pleasant feeling, one, esteeming it, reviews it with a mind associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling. Having emerged from jhāna associated with pleasant feeling, having emerged from the path (magga), having emerged from fruition (phala), one, esteeming it, reviews it with a mind associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling. Esteeming the aggregates (khandhā) associated with pleasant feeling with a mind associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, one relishes them and delights in them; having esteemed that, lust (rāga) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises. …
