[1172] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon associated with painful feeling: proximity decisive support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive support: In dependence on hatred (dosa), one kills a living being; with a mind (citta) associated with painful feeling, one takes what is not given … (abbreviated) … one causes schism in the Saṅgha.
In dependence on delusion (moha) and on body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) accompanied by pain, one kills a living being; with a mind associated with painful feeling, one takes what is not given … (abbreviated) … one causes schism in the Saṅgha.
Hatred, delusion, and body-consciousness accompanied by pain are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for hatred, for delusion, for body-consciousness accompanied by pain, and for the aggregates (khandhā) associated with painful feeling.
