[1175] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling (adukkhamasukhā vedanā) is a condition, by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya), for a phenomenon associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling:
Object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya).
Natural decisive-support: Depending on faith (saddhā) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, one gives a gift with a mind (citta) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling; one grasps a view (diṭṭhi). Depending on virtue (sīla) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling … learning (suta), generosity (cāga), wisdom (paññā), lust (rāga), delusion (moha), conceit (māna), view … aspiration (patthanā), one gives a gift with a mind associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling. (Abbreviated.) One gives rise to an attainment (samāpatti). With a mind associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, one takes what is not given … destroys a market town.
Faith associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, virtue, learning, generosity, wisdom, lust, delusion, conceit, view, and aspiration are a condition, by decisive-support condition, for faith associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling.
