[1176] A phenomenon (dhamma) associated (sampayutta) with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling (adukkhamasukhā vedanā) is a condition for a phenomenon associated with pleasant feeling by decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
Object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling, one gives a gift (dāna) with a mind (citta) associated with pleasant feeling … conceives conceit (māna), grasps a view (diṭṭhi).
In dependence on virtue (sīla) associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling … … … in dependence on aspiration (patthanā), one gives a gift with a mind associated with pleasant feeling … gives rise to an attainment (samāpatti); with a mind associated with pleasant feeling one takes what is not given … plunders a market town (nigama).
Faith associated with neither-painful-nor-pleasant feeling … … aspiration, and body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa) accompanied by pleasure, are a condition for faith associated with pleasant feeling … … for aspiration, for body-consciousness accompanied by pleasure, and for the aggregates (khandhā) associated with pleasant feeling by decisive-support condition.
