[539] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by rapture (pīti) and a phenomenon accompanied by pleasure (sukha) are a condition for a phenomenon accompanied by rapture by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya): object decisive-support (ārammaṇūpanissaya), proximity decisive-support (anantarūpanissaya), natural decisive-support (pakatūpanissaya). Natural decisive-support: In dependence on faith (saddhā) accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure, one gives a gift (dāna) with a mind (citta) accompanied by rapture … grasps a view (diṭṭhi). In dependence on virtue (sīla) accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure … on longing (patthanā), one gives a gift with a mind accompanied by rapture … pillages a market town. Faith accompanied by rapture and accompanied by pleasure … longing are a condition for faith accompanied by rapture, for longing, by way of decisive-support condition.
