[1457] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung-to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya) and a phenomenon that is neither clung-to nor subject to clinging (anupādinna-anupādāniya), there arises a phenomenon that is neither clung-to nor subject to clinging, through object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya):
Conditioned by one aggregate (khandha) that is neither clung-to nor subject to clinging and the base (vatthu), three aggregates [arise]; conditioned by two aggregates and the base, two aggregates [arise].
Conditioned by a phenomenon that is clung-to and subject to clinging and a phenomenon that is not clung-to but subject to clinging (anupādinnupādāniya), there arises a phenomenon that is not clung-to but subject to clinging, through object condition:
Conditioned by one aggregate that is not clung-to but subject to clinging and the base, three aggregates [arise]; conditioned by two aggregates and the base, two aggregates [arise].
