[1456] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging arises by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya): conditioned by one aggregate (khandha) that is clung to and subject to clinging, three aggregates arise; conditioned by two aggregates, two aggregates arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), conditioned by one aggregate that is clung to and subject to clinging, three aggregates arise; conditioned by two aggregates, two aggregates arise; conditioned by the base (vatthu), the aggregates arise. Conditioned by the eye base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness arises … conditioned by the body base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness arises. Conditioned by the base, aggregates that are clung to and subject to clinging arise.
