[1425] In dependence on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is clung to and subject to clinging arises by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya) … by contiguity condition (samanantara-paccaya) … by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya):
In dependence on one aggregate (khandha) that is clung to and subject to clinging … ; at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), in dependence on one primary element (mahābhūta) … ; in dependence on the primary elements, kamma-born materiality (kaṭattārūpa) that is derivative materiality (upādā-rūpa) [arises]. For the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), in dependence on one primary element … ; in dependence on the primary elements, kamma-born materiality that is derivative materiality [arises].
