[1462] In dependence on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clung-to and subject to clinging (upādinnupādāniya), a phenomenon that is clung-to and subject to clinging arises by not-root condition (na-hetu-paccaya): in dependence on one rootless (ahetuka) aggregate (khandha) that is clung-to and subject to clinging, …; at the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), …; for the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), in dependence on one primary element (mahābhūta), …; in dependence on the eye base (cakkhāyatana), eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); in dependence on the body base (kāyāyatana), body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa); in dependence on the base (vatthu), the rootless aggregates that are clung-to and subject to clinging.
