[1670] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is defiled and subject to defilement (saṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is defiled and subject to defilement and for a phenomenon that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika).
Roots (hetū) that are defiled and subject to defilement are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates (khandhā) and for forms originated by mind (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa).
