[1706] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is undefiled but subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-saṅkilesika) is a condition for a phenomenon that is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) by way of prenascence condition (purejāta-paccaya). The base (vatthu) is a condition for the aggregates (khandha) that are undefiled and not subject to defilement by way of prenascence condition.
