[45] Could it be that, dependent on a wholesome phenomenon (dhamma), a wholesome phenomenon might arise not by root condition (na hetupaccayā)? Just as in the positive method (anuloma) the root condition (hetu-paccaya) has been elaborated in detail, so too in the negative method (paccanīya) the not-root condition (na-hetupaccaya) should be elaborated in detail.
