[1936] A present phenomenon (paccuppanno dhammo) is a condition for a present phenomenon by nutriment condition (āhāra-paccaya); is a condition by faculty condition (indriya-paccaya); is a condition by absorption condition (jhāna-paccaya); is a condition by path condition (magga-paccaya); is a condition by association condition (sampayutta-paccaya); is a condition by dissociation condition (vippayutta-paccaya) — conascent, prenascent, postnascent. Conascent: the present aggregates (khandhā) are a condition for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by dissociation condition. At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), the present aggregates are a condition for kamma-produced forms (kaṭattā-rūpa) by dissociation condition; the aggregates are a condition for the base (vatthu) by dissociation condition; the base is a condition for the aggregates by dissociation condition. Prenascent: the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa); the body sense base (kāyāyatana) … the base is a condition for the present aggregates by dissociation condition. Postnascent: the present aggregates are a condition for this prenascent body by dissociation condition.
