[1908] An arisen phenomenon (uppanno dhammo) is a condition for an arisen phenomenon by presence condition (atthi-paccaya): conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta), postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya).
Conascent: one arisen aggregate (khandha) is a condition for the three aggregates and for the mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by presence condition; two aggregates … At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa). (Abbreviated.)
One primary element (mahābhūta) … external … nutriment … temperature (utu) … of the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta) …
Prenascent: the eye (cakkhu) as impermanent, as suffering (dukkha) … the basis (vatthu) as impermanent … grief (domanassa) arises. With the divine eye (dibbacakkhu) … one hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu).
The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), and the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), by presence condition. The eye base (cakkhāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness, the body base (kāyāyatana) for body-consciousness; the basis is a condition for the arisen aggregates by presence condition.
Postnascent: the arisen aggregates are a condition for this prenascent body by presence condition. Edible nutriment (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) is a condition for this body, and the material life faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya) for the forms produced by kamma (kaṭattā-rūpa), by presence condition.
