[214] A visible phenomenon (sanidassana dhamma) is a condition for an invisible phenomenon (anidassana dhamma) by presence condition (atthi-paccaya):
[One contemplates] visible form as impermanent … grief arises. One sees a form with the divine eye. The form base (rūpāyatana) is a condition for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa) by presence condition.
An invisible phenomenon is a condition for an invisible phenomenon by presence condition: conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta), postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya).
Conascent: one invisible aggregate (khandha) is a condition for three aggregates and for invisible mind-originated matter (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by presence condition; two aggregates … (abbreviated) up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
Prenascent: [one contemplates] the eye … the base (vatthu) as impermanent … grief arises. One hears a sound with the divine ear element (dibbā sotadhātu). Postnascent: the invisible aggregates are a condition for this prenascent invisible body by presence condition. Edible food (kabaḷīkāra āhāra) is a condition for this invisible body by presence condition. The material life faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya) is a condition for invisible kamma-produced matter (kaṭattā-rūpa) by presence condition.
