[249] A phenomenon with impinging (sappaṭigha dhamma) is a condition, by presence condition (atthi-paccaya), for a phenomenon with impinging: one [way]; the first question is similar to the Paṭicca[vāra]. A phenomenon with impinging is a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon without impinging (appaṭigha dhamma): conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta). Conascent: the primary elements (mahābhūta) with impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for the water element (āpodhātu); the primary elements with impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) and kamma-born forms (kaṭattārūpa) — derived forms (upādā-rūpa) — that are without impinging; the tangible base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana) is a condition, by presence condition, for the femininity faculty (itthindriya) [and] for edible food (kabaḷīkāra āhāra); external … nutriment-originated, temperature-originated, of the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) … . Prenascent: the eye … tangibles as impermanent … grief arises; one sees a form with the divine eye, hears a sound with the divine ear element; the form base [is a condition] for eye-consciousness (cakkhuviññāṇa), the tangible base for body-consciousness (kāyaviññāṇa), the eye base for eye-consciousness, the body base is a condition, by presence condition, for body-consciousness. A phenomenon with impinging is a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon with impinging and a phenomenon without impinging: one primary element with impinging is a condition, by presence condition, for two primary elements and for the water element; similar to the Paṭicca[vāra], up to the non-percipient beings. A phenomenon without impinging is a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon without impinging: conascent, prenascent, postnascent (pacchājāta), nutriment (āhāra), faculty (indriya). Conascent: one aggregate (khandha) without impinging [is a condition] for three … up to the non-percipient beings. Prenascent: the base (vatthu) … the femininity faculty, the masculinity faculty (purisindriya), the life faculty (jīvitindriya), the water element … edible food as impermanent … grief arises; the base is a condition, by presence condition, for the aggregates without impinging. Postnascent: the aggregates without impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for this prenascent body without impinging; edible food is a condition, by presence condition, for this body without impinging; the material life faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya) is a condition, by presence condition, for kamma-born forms without impinging. A phenomenon without impinging is a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon with impinging: conascent, postnascent, nutriment, faculty. Conascent: the aggregates without impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for mind-originated forms with impinging; at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), the water element is a condition, by presence condition, for the primary elements with impinging; the water element is a condition, by presence condition, for mind-originated forms and kamma-born forms — derived forms — that are with impinging; the water element is a condition, by presence condition, for the eye base [and] for the tangible base; external … nutriment-originated, temperature-originated, of the non-percipient beings … . Postnascent: the aggregates without impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for this prenascent body with impinging; edible food is a condition, by presence condition, for this body with impinging; the material life faculty is a condition, by presence condition, for kamma-born forms with impinging. A phenomenon with impinging and a phenomenon without impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon without impinging: conascent, prenascent. Conascent: one aggregate accompanied by eye-consciousness and the eye base [are a condition] for three aggregates …; two aggregates …; one aggregate accompanied by body-consciousness and the body base are a condition, by presence condition, for three aggregates; two aggregates … . A phenomenon with impinging and a phenomenon without impinging are a condition, by presence condition, for a phenomenon with impinging and a phenomenon without impinging: similar to the Paṭicca[vāra].
