[1952] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with a past object (atītārammaṇa) there arises a phenomenon with a past object, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) aggregate (khandha) with a past object, three aggregates [arise]; [dependent on] two aggregates … at the moment of rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhikkhaṇa); dependent on the aggregates accompanied by doubt (vicikicchāsahagata), accompanied by restlessness (uddhaccasahagata), there arises the delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt, accompanied by restlessness.
