[2191] Dependent on an invisible-and-impinging phenomenon (anidassana-sappaṭigha dhamma), an invisible-and-impinging phenomenon arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): dependent on one invisible-and-impinging primary element (mahābhūta), two primary elements [arise]; dependent on two primary elements, one primary element [arises]. Dependent on the invisible-and-impinging primary elements, [there arises] invisible-and-impinging mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) and kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa), [that is,] derived form (upādā-rūpa); dependent on the tangible-object base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana), the eye base (cakkhāyatana) [and] the taste base (rasāyatana) [arise]. External … nutriment-originated … temperature-originated … For the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): dependent on one invisible-and-impinging primary element, two primary elements [arise]; dependent on two primary elements, one primary element [arises].
