Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 2181

[2181] Dependent on an invisible-impinging (anidassana-sappaṭigha) phenomenon (dhamma) and an invisible-non-impinging (anidassana-appaṭigha) phenomenon, a visible-impinging (sanidassana-sappaṭigha) phenomenon arises by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya): dependent on invisible-non-impinging aggregates (khandhā) and the primary elements (mahābhūtā), [there arises] visible-impinging mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); dependent on the invisible-non-impinging primary elements and the water element (āpodhātu), [there arises] visible-impinging mind-originated form, derivative form (upādā-rūpa). By this method the seven questions, too, should be analyzed.
