[2197] Dependent on an invisible, impinging (anidassana-sappaṭigha) phenomenon (dhamma) there arises an invisible, impinging phenomenon not by predominance condition (na-adhipati-paccaya). This is similar to [the section on] conascence (sahajāta).
Not by immediacy condition (na-anantara-paccaya), not by contiguity condition (na-samanantara-paccaya), not by mutuality condition (na-aññamañña-paccaya):
Dependent on the invisible, impinging primary elements (mahābhūta), there arises invisible, impinging mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa), kamma-born form (kaṭattā-rūpa), derived form (upādā-rūpa); dependent on the tangible sense base (phoṭṭhabbāyatana), [there arise] the eye sense base (cakkhāyatana), the flavour sense base (rasāyatana); external [form] … nutriment-originated [form] … temperature-originated [form] … for the non-percipient beings (asaññasatta), dependent on the primary elements, [there arises] invisible, non-impinging (anidassana-appaṭigha) kamma-born form, derived form.
By this method the twenty-one questions should be analyzed.
Not by decisive-support condition (na-upanissaya-paccaya), not by prenascence condition (na-purejāta-paccaya), not by postnascence condition (na-pacchājāta-paccaya), not by repetition condition (na-āsevana-paccaya).
Not by kamma condition (na-kamma-paccaya):
External [form] … nutriment-originated [form] … temperature-originated [form] … dependent on one invisible, impinging primary element, [there arise] two primary elements; dependent on two primary elements, [there arises] one primary element; dependent on the invisible, impinging primary elements, [there arises] invisible, impinging derived form.
Having analyzed kamma, the twenty-one questions should be done with non-kamma alone.
Not by kamma-result condition (na-vipāka-paccaya): there is neither rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi) nor kamma-born [form]; [the questions] should be done only in the five-constituent [existence] (pañcavokāra).
Not by nutriment condition (na-āhāra-paccaya):
External [form] … temperature-originated [form] … for the non-percipient beings … By this method all twenty-one, too, should be analyzed.
Not by faculty condition (na-indriya-paccaya):
External [form] … nutriment-originated [form] … temperature-originated [form] … one invisible, impinging primary element … for the non-percipient beings, dependent on the primary elements, [there arises] the material life-faculty (rūpa-jīvitindriya). (Abbreviated.) All the questions should be analyzed.
Not by absorption condition (na-jhāna-paccaya):
External [form] … nutriment-originated [form] … temperature-originated [form] … for the non-percipient beings, one primary element. (Abbreviated.) All seven questions should be analyzed.
