[227] Phenomena (dhammā) with applied thought and sustained thought (savitakka-savicāra), without applied thought and with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon with applied thought and sustained thought by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), one aggregate (khandha) with applied thought and sustained thought, and applied thought (vitakka), and the base (vatthu) are a condition for three aggregates by connascence condition; two aggregates, and applied thought, and the base are a condition for two aggregates by connascence condition.
