[398] A phenomenon (dhamma) without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon with thought and with examination (savitakka-savicāra) and for a phenomenon without thought but with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta), by dissociation condition (vippayutta-paccaya): conascent (sahajāta), prenascent (purejāta).
Conascent: at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), the base (vatthu) is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) with thought and with examination and for thought (vitakka), by dissociation condition.
Prenascent: the base is a condition for the aggregates with thought and with examination and for thought, by dissociation condition.
