[680] A phenomenon (dhamma) to be abandoned by development (bhāvanāya pahātabba) is a condition, by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), for a phenomenon to be abandoned by development: object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati) and conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati).
Object-predominance: having given weight to lust (rāga) that is to be abandoned by development, one relishes it and delights in it; having given weight to that, lust to be abandoned by development arises.
Conascence-predominance: a predominance [phenomenon] to be abandoned by development is a condition, by predominance condition, for the associated aggregates (sampayuttaka-khandha).
