[817] Conditioned by a phenomenon (dhamma) with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development (nevadassanena-nabhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka), a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing (dassanena-pahātabbahetuka) arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): conditioned by the base (vatthu), [there arise] the aggregates (khandhā) with roots to be abandoned by seeing; conditioned by the delusion (moha) accompanied by doubt (vicikicchā), [there arise] the associated aggregates. Conditioned by a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development, a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by development (bhāvanāya-pahātabbahetuka) arises by root condition: conditioned by the base, [there arise] the aggregates with roots to be abandoned by development; conditioned by the delusion accompanied by restlessness (uddhacca), [there arise] the associated aggregates. Conditioned by a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development, a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by seeing and a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development … : conditioned by the base, [there arise] the aggregates with roots to be abandoned by seeing; conditioned by the primary elements (mahābhūta), [there arises] mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa); conditioned by the delusion accompanied by doubt, [there arise] the associated aggregates and mind-originated form. Conditioned by a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development, a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned by development and a phenomenon with roots to be abandoned neither by seeing nor by development … : conditioned by the base, [there arise] the aggregates with roots to be abandoned by development; conditioned by the primary elements, [there arises] mind-originated form; conditioned by the delusion accompanied by restlessness, [there arise] the associated aggregates and mind-originated form.
